Current research topics of the working group
The research topics of my working group are located in the field of inorganic coordination- and solid state chemistry dealing with inorganic functional materials based on complex oxo-anions. An important part of the investigations is dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of new compounds. The properties of these compounds are defined by the specific oxo-anion and by the nature of the used element so that with respect to the possible combinations different functionalities can be adressed. Currently we are mainly focussed on five important key aspects:
Structuring of precious metals
Sulfonate based MOFs and coordinations polymers
Magnetic properties by unusual coordination geometries and oxidation states
Non-metal compounds with oxo-anions
